MEET THE CHARACTERS

STEVEN played by Steve Grand

Steven is in a long-term relationship with Jesse Garza, a Hispanic attorney with whom he lives in Boyle Heights. Unhappy that their sex life seems to be fizzing out, which leads to squabbles between them, Steven also has some trust issues with Jesse because Jesse had an affair with a college student. He becomes a little concerned when Jesse tells him about an encounter that he had with a college age Hispanic activist...

JESSE played by Luis Lopez

Jesse is a lawyer who lives in Boyle Heights with his longtime partner, Steven Johnson, a college professor. Jesse is from a Mexican American family in Texas, but he's somewhat turned his back on his heritage. Approached by the charismatic young activist Leo DeLeon, who's protesting the gentrification of the Boyle Heights neighborhood (by people like Jesse), Jesse is annoyed and attracted to Leo, with whom he shares a spirited debate. Jesse goes to Leo's meeting at his home that night, where his attraction to Leo reignites his own love for Steven, and quite possibly gets him to thinking about getting involved in a way he never has before...

LEO played by Adrian Nunez

Leo is a neighborhood activist in Boyle Heights, protesting the gentrification of a neighborhood his family has lived in for six generations. Leo is immediately intrigued by and attracted to Jesse Garza, a Hispanic man who's uninterested in the fight but who clearly shares a spark of intellect and attraction with Leo (who loves a good argument himself). Leo is very happy when Jesse comes to his house, where he's holding a neighborhood meeting, even though Jesse, who's involved in a long-term relationship, ultimately puts off Leo's advances...
